My daughter turned up with a new Win7 PC and in trying to get it to join the pre-Win7 Workgroup, I noticed that in supplying the correct username and password to the NAS drive, access was always denied. In theory.... this is easy peasy. The iPad is running an app by Stratospherix called FileBrowser. FB is asking for username and password even though there are no restrictions on anyone to access the folders. The help on the stratopherix website suggests that some older NAS's use a sawn off Linux sys...

Sorted.... The part number of the drive is the 5 digit one (32493 in my case) on the bottom of the case. Last year I had Gigabit SoHo NAS installed which has worked well, but the bod who installed it was a muppet and didn't leave me a note of the username and password. I have tried the default admin/admin but it doesn't let me in.

What are my options?
