I'll have to consult our factory I'm afraid.

The instructions only mention Windows 7 to update so I'll get this confirmed.

When connected to the Win8 machine, under device manager - USB Display adapters - does it say Dual Head Video Dock or USB 3.0 Dual Video Dock?

Sorry I've just seen a note on my system that is says it must be updated on windows 7. Do you have a machine with that?

Otherwise, could you try it on USB 2?

USB 3 on windows 8 had problems in our first batch and required a firmware update. I could only assume this is the case here as we've not had this issue since.

Are you comfortable flashing firmware? I had a guide and it is quite straight forward.

Is it possible to try another distribution to check its not an error/bug in CentOS? The support is now built in the kernel and has been for a long time. No separate linux driver has been released by Silicone image since 2006. All these type of cards are technically software RAID, as all the processi...

Sorry when I said "KVM unit" I should have said Console+KVM

However since it looks like the console only then it would be fine to return just that part.

From the extensive testing you have done above I'd suggest the KVM unit has a fault.

Please could you return the unit to us for testing - http://www.lindy.co.uk/return-product-i374

On the linux machine do you get corruption when it boots in the BIOS?

Are you able to change the console resolution for testing purposes?

What type of cables are you using, with any adapters?

Hi,

We've never seen this issue with Linux (or even Windows)

What resolution is the console set at?

If you change the port on the KVM so the linux machine is on another, do you still get the same problem?

Did you purchase 41561?

Have you also connected the USB power cable?

It should go, Phone > MHL Adapter > HDMI Cable > TV HDMI port

Hi Colin,

As I mentioned in my last email, it sounds like your TV doesn't support MHL natively.

An active adapter would get around this problem.

Hi,

normally support for Sil3124 is built in to the kernel. Which kernel version are you using?

We have no tested this with newer linux distributions.

Hi,

When going long distance like 17m you always seem to get the audio dropping off first when you are at the edge of the limit.

I'd either recommend a shorter cable if possible or a HDMI inline booster.

It sounds like a bandwidth (over distance) problem

Hi,

When you hold the duplicate button for 5 seconds you then need to press it again to start the clone. The LEDs should start to flash.

Hi Pinto,

Unfortunately if the unit doesn't power up after a firmware flash it sounds like the flash went bad. Did the power drop during the upgrade process?

I've never seen this happen on windows 7 and we have tried quite a few machines with different hardware.

Is it only when connecting to the scanner, as it sounds like it could be incompatible.

It sounds like you might have a faulty item, as the Kanex (visually) looks like the same OEM.

If you wish to return the item please do so here - http://www.lindy.co.uk/return-product-i374

Something doesn't sounds right, although we have never tried this unit on a Roku box.

Are you able to test the analogue output with some speakers or a headset?
