Hi,

Any active extension cable system should work fine for your setup. We have had quite a lot of people using these for this purpose.

Hi,

Any RAID volume would wipe both disks. So you would need to copy the information on to another disk or storage device before building the new RAID array.

Hi ZoranD,

This sounds like an intermittent fault, the USB device not recognised message normally only appears when the unit has a malfunction.

I'd suggest returning the item.

If this is another card (but same part) than the time you supplied the windows 7 machine, then it could be a faulty item.

If this was the same card just in another machine I'd suggest it might be an issue with the driver on windows 8.1, which we will need to look at.

Hi,

The Vista driver is the latest driver to be produced, we have tested this with 8.1 however.

Was this the same machine?

Hi,

In the manual there should be a section on how to connect to an existing wireless point. It is under the networking section. You can add in the SSID of your normal wireless and the security options.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the post, it does sound like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting.

It could be the DAC causing the issue, so I'd suggest a return and we'll take a look at this. - http://www.lindy.co.uk/return-product-i374

Hi,

Normally when sound is breaking up it would be a bandwidth issue. Can you try lowering the resolution to see if you get the same problem?

What type of monitor/TV are you using?

I could only put this down to an incompatibility as we have not seen this before.

You can return the product if bought direct here - http://www.lindy.co.uk/return-product-i374

It sounds like it could be an incompatibility with the chipset.

When you say turn off USB 3, do you mean move it to another slot?

I'm not 100% sure about the rebuild, if it only does files or if it will rebuild the entire disk bit by bit.

If the later it could take longer than 5hours.

RAID really isn't designed to have disks pulled and then forced to rebuild.

It does sound like the sync process is taking place. How long has it taken so far?

1TB disks will take quite a while to copy over.

Hi,

This product doesn't have any drivers as it uses the built in windows drivers.

Are these different machines you are using? Could you check that your USB 3 chipset drivers are installed okay?

Hi,

I would recommend a return, as it shouldn't stop mid clone on a number of disks.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any way to make it run as a service, but the newer software has an option to allow a device to reconnect on startup.

Do you not get this option in the software?

Hi,

The main difference is the chipsets used and also the 42694 is newer to the market, which comes with a lower price and higher distance.

Hi,

We do not work weekends so I'm afraid I cannot respond then.

We do support our own products, however if an item is suspected as faulty it needs to be returned. As per the sales of goods act the goods need to be returned to the place of purchase.

Best Regards

It could be an issue with either the PSU or the product itself.

I'd recommend a return as it sounds like it could have a fault.

If you have no yellow explanation marks in device manager then the device is installed correctly.

Which device are you using it with? Do you just use the windows utility to transfer files?
