Hi,

This uses the PL2303 chipset and has had XP compatibility for years.

The best driver is the following, http://www.lindy.co.uk/lindyshop/driver ... r_v130.zip

This should install fine from the .exe

Hi,

Are you able to change the com port number for the device in device manager? Sometimes default numbers can conflict, it should tell you which are currently in use.

Best Regards
Chris

I'd recommend removing the device from device manager, including any driver files installed. Reinstalling the driver above and then plugging the device in to a new USB port.

We have sold 1000's of these for many years with no problems with XP

Hi,

Please use the driver above or the XP driver from the chipset manufacturer - http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProdu ... 25&pcid=41

42855 and the previous model all use the same chip, the PL2303

You can find an explanation of error 10 here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123

we do not support virtual machines.

Are you able to test on a real intel based XP PC ?
