Hi, I recently brought the USB Mini HDD enclosure (42787) to go with my Mac mini. However after fitting a WD 3TB drive in the enclosure the drive first reported the disk as 750GB & failed to format / initialise. After powering it off & trying again it reported it as a 1TB drive & again failed to format. I checked the 3TB disk in a Mac Pro where it was instantly recognised correctly & could be formatted. Putting it back in the enclosure and again the disk was not recognised.
Is there some issue with this enclosure and 3TB drives? I tried a 2TB drive in the enclosure and this seems to work ok.
Thanks for any advice.

Hello,
I will contact our factory to see if this enclosure has any known problems with 3TB disks.

Update - the 2TB drive has now started to randomly disconnect. I am forced to restart the enclosure and/or disconnect it. This happens repeatedly.
The only drive I can get to reliably work in the enclosure is a 500GB IDE drive. It seems drives over 750GB are not supported, this is hinted at with other similar enclosure NAS drives from Lindy?
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I will chaise an update for you.
750GB is the limit for the nas unit, which looks identical.
