Today I received my 15m Firewire 800 9/9 cable witch I tried to connect from my 13" Macbook Pro i5 to my firewire video editing workstation. (6TB Western digital Mybook II)
Unfortunately it didn't connect..
If I use the disk with a normal Firewire 800 9/9 it works perfectly.
Just in case I reinstalled all the Wester Digital Mybook II drivers but that didn't made sense.
Could sombody please help me out?

Hello,
Is this disk externally powered or powered from the Firmware interface? If the later then the power is probably too weak after 15m.

I'm afraid there is nothing much I can offer other than to get the cable back for a refund. Its well over the firewire spec and we do get the odd incompatibility.

Thanks for your help anyways Chris.
Last question.
Do you think its possible that it has to do with the small transformer piece on the end of the original WD firewire cable? For example like on this cable: alibaba.com/product-gs/421752112/Firewire_800_400_IEEE_1394B_Cable.html
I'm not sure but maybe the 10m FireWire 800 Active Extension Cable will work than.
If that's not the solution I would like to send the cable back.

That is a ferrite core, our cables do not need one due to the shielding.
Its hard to say if an active cable would work or not, in theory it should.

Hi Michael, something is going wrong because I have not received your form. Please e-mail your invoice details to technical@lindy.co.uk. I just need the invoice number to proceed.
