Hi,
I own a USB 3.0 Mobile SATA RAID System from Lindy that runs on a Kubuntu Linux. From the beginning it works fine.
The Problem: The RAID-Drive-state switched to "read-only" since I flipped of one of the two hdd and put a third one in (for storing the flipped hdd at a another place).
The 2 blue LEDs are glowing permanent now. Is this the sync-process (writing the full hdd data to the new one)? Is the state always "read only" on sync-process? How long may a sync (1TB) continue? Several hours?
Is it OK to flip the hdd when its under power? Do I have to unmount it first?
Thanks in advance,
Homer

It does sound like the sync process is taking place. How long has it taken so far?
1TB disks will take quite a while to copy over.

I'm not 100% sure about the rebuild, if it only does files or if it will rebuild the entire disk bit by bit.
If the later it could take longer than 5hours.
RAID really isn't designed to have disks pulled and then forced to rebuild.
