Have been struggling to get iMac to recognise Mini NAS Enclosure.

HDD installed with no problem. Setup according to enclosed instructions. Host name changed to "Lindy" and Group Name to existing home network name. Computer and NAS wired ethernet connection to Netgear Router.

Windows laptop recognises NAS drive and allows file transfers with no problem, so hardware OK.

On iMac,"lindy" appears in SHARED list in Finder. Click on "lindy" and the folders created during setup appear. Double-click on either folder produces the message "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “foldername” can’t be found".

I would be grateful for some help as I wish to use the NAS drive on a home network using two iMac's and an iPad.

iMac OSX 10.6.7 Snow Leopard
File Sharing - AFP and SMB selected

With thanks
RG
