I'm connecting two devices to two TVs through HDMI cables. The first TV is connected with a 3 meter cable and works fine for the most part. The second cable is approximately 17 meters. On this connection, the picture transfers fine, but I don't get any sound on that TV from my cable box, but my DVD player gets both picture and sound great over the same HDMI cable.

For both TVs, there is a second issue. Sometimes when a switch the input devices to another source, the connection goes blank. I have to cycle power on the output device to get the picture back.

What would the issue be?

The Lindy switch is model number 38043.

Hi,

When going long distance like 17m you always seem to get the audio dropping off first when you are at the edge of the limit.

I'd either recommend a shorter cable if possible or a HDMI inline booster.

It sounds like a bandwidth (over distance) problem
