USB Infrared communication

I have purchased a 4288 USB Infrared adapter to use with a calibration tool for Rotork control valves,when i install the infrared adapter it is assigned as an infrared device in the device manager but the Rotork software is looking for a COM port is there a way to assign the adapter to a COM port??

Hi MiddB,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I'm afraid the 42888 will only install as an IrDA Device and will not be assigned a COM port.
