I have the Lindy 2 port Firewire ExpressCard and I'm trying to use it with a Windows 7 64bit Lenovo X220 laptop.

When I insert the card the laptop 'beeps' but in device manager I cannot see the IEEE 1394 controller and also using Windows Movide Maker the devide is not found.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

In device manager do you see any icons with a yellow exclamation mark?

Or any categories like IEEE 1394?

No nothing in Device Manager. When I insert/remove the card the laptop beeps and device manager automatically refreshes but no new devices are found.

It sounds like it is either faulty or incompatible, I'd suggest filling in a returns form for us to take a look at it.

before I send the card back some more info....

when I insert the firewire card in device manager a new device appears named: PCI to PCI Bridge. Is there any way to now get this device to use the correct driver?

The driver should automatically be installed when connected. It does use the PCI to PCI bridge but as far as I know these drivers are for the Expresscard slot and the our card.

Best Regards

I'm also having the exact same problem. Seems too much of a coincidence for there to be 2 faulty cards.
Any reason why this card should be incompatible with the Thinkpad X220?
