I have two HDDs (3000GB Seagate Barracuda) which I intend to set up in RAID1 configuration to protect against HDD HW failure..
I have used one of these disks directly attached to the motherboard SATA interface and there is already information on it that I want to preserve.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Is it possible to transfer the disk already having information on it from PC motherboard SATA plug to 51403 SATA plug and then add an empty disk and configure RAID1?

Hi,

Any RAID volume would wipe both disks. So you would need to copy the information on to another disk or storage device before building the new RAID array.
