My point being that such detail is undocumented... giving
unnecessary rise to undue concern - particularly in strange
circumstances. (see other post)
It is common for units to have undocumented LEDs that are internal to the unit and are not helpful to the average user. We would not include anything like this in the user manual, especially since its internal and has no external indicator.
This forum has not delivered a notification email for your reply.
My server runs very fierce filters so it's not uncommon:-/
If your forum DOES send out email notification please also
advise the likely IP address (by PM if you feel that it's necessary)
It's not exactly a secret as everybody who DOES get a notification
will simultaneously know that information. I can then take steps
to have the probable block located and whitelisted here.
The IP at the moment is 184.108.40.206, but it is on shared / remote hosting so could change at any time. You can change this behavior in your profile settings if you wish to remove notifications.
I purchased a second unit at the same time. I presume it has
the same bug and can therefore continue with any proper fixes
you offer after I return from Friday's expedition.
Unless the first is faulty (which it doesn't sound like it is) then this should behave exactly the same way.
And thank you for NOT responding with the usual 'send it back'...
which is probably (?) not going to be all that fruitful.
Even if we do find the incompatibility, we would have to wait until the factory also identifies the problem and provides a fix, which could takes weeks / months. So a return might still be on the cards.
