Hi,

Can you tell me what type of video stream is created by the transmitter and on which port?

I would like to be able to monitor the stream from a PC while I setup a point to point system in a fairly complex network.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

The extender will convert the video signal into a MJPEG format to be sent over the network as a multicast signal. If you connect the receiver to your network and display before the transmitter, you should see an on screen display which will list the receivers IP address, and when you then connect the transmitter it will list this also.

Thanks for the response.

Is it possible to monitor the stream on VLC?

Hi Steve,

Not as far as we are aware. The only way to view signal being transmitted over the network is to connect up a matching receive within the same LAN.
