Hi,

We've experienced a problem twice now with both the 8 port and 16 port classic IP power switches whereby if there is an abrupt powercut - *random* ports aren't turned back on when power is restored, often resulting in a network being down and inevitably an engineer needing to visit site to bypass the powered off switch/router and turn the affected ports back on using the web UI.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to which ports are left powered off. It was different both times.

Is this a known problem and is there anything that can be done to resolve?

Thanks in advance.

Hi James,

The 8 port classic IPower switch doesn't have the functionality to remember its last state so when it loses power, it may still have some residual power to keep certain ports enabled, this may be why you are experiencing this problem.

We do have a high specification switch which will remember the previous configured state, however it is slightly more expensive.
