I recently got a D700 to upgrade from a Fujifilm S5 Pro. The Fuji has brilliant camera control software (HyperUtility) which always works flawlessly. I always shoot tethered in my studio hence I was keen to try out Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2.0 (CCP2).
Here's the problem - no matter what I do I cannot get CCP2 to recognize nor connect to my D700. I am running Vista SP1. I can see the D700 in "My Computer" and I can even navigate to view the contents on the CF card- so clearly it is connected ok to my PC.
My old Fujifilm S5 Pro has an option to set the USB mode in the menus but the D700 does not have this option. Camera is running firmware 1.01.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

What version of CCP2 do you use? I assume you are using an older version. Have you considered upgrading to v2.6.0? 2.0 doesn't seem to run correctly with Vista and D700.
