Hello,

I'm not having any luck in gettting sound from my Samsung LED tv to my Arcam Solo Mini HiFi...

The TV model is ue46d6500, it is connected by a 1m Fisual Optical Cable to a Lindy 70408 DAC, through 1m audio cables into the TV ports on the Arcam. Naturally, the optical cable covers are removed, volumes are turned up, correct sources are selected on the HiFi...

The TV is set to 'external speakers', signal is PCM, an optical signal is visible going into the DAC (i.e. end of the cable going into the DAC glows red if you look at it before plugging it in). The DAC is powered form the standard PSU, shows a red LED, and is set to Optical.

The analogue audio cable and TV ports connections are good, and were used on my last TV ( a Sony LCD with a terrible picture, but at least it had analogue ports).

I appreciate that I'm probably missing something obvious, but I'd certainly be grateful for any help on resolving this!

Hi,
I can't see anything that's wrong with your setup but I did have another customer with a Arcam solo mini and we could not get the 70408 to work with it. I suspect some incompatibility. You may have to consider returning the unit.

Hi John,

Thanks for the quick response! Do you know if your other Arcam owner had any luck with a different Lindy model?

Thanks,

I'm afraid not, she eventually returned the unit

Thanks very much - and don't worry: it won't put me off using Lindy again ;-)

I've got lots of other bits, they all work great and were super value for money!
