Over the past six weeks I have taken delivery of two of these units. The HDMI is doing a great job, however we can not get the IR extender side to work on either unit. I have tried moving the IR TX/RX cables in all the various combinations (labeling or showing pictorially which cable is RX and TX might be helpful) and have used remotes from Sony, Marrantz and Panasonic and still get no joy. Could you please give me some guidance on how to be able to test the installation.

Hi Nigel,

The extender supports IR extension for 30-60Khz signals, so it be worth checking that your devices use a frequency within that range first.

IR can be very positional so you would need to make sure the IR on your device is aligned with the extenders IR Eye properly or it may not work properly. You could also try testing the IR in the opposite direction, for example controlling your TV from the transmitter side as TVs often use a wider range of IR signals.
