The issue I am having is that I cannot get multi channel audio from my HTPC unless I always watch this through my AV Receiver. If I use a normal splitter the tv reduces all HMI output to stereo only. Your splitter makes reference to EDID support so would this allow the HTPC to see the receiver and send multi channel rather thyan downgrade the whole signal to stereo.
Thanks Gigsy

Hi,

If you placed your AV amp on port 1 then it should allow multi channel audio, however the audio to the TV would also be multi channel so you would not get any sound via the TV.

I see thanks.

Can you see any way around me problems? The HTPC is my tv unit and so watch this regularly without receiver on, but also have a building film collection so would like to be able to switch on receiver when i want the surround sound or better quality music.
Thanks for prompt reply

We have nothing that would help I'm afraid.
