I have purchased the 2 Port 4K HDMI 2.0 UHD Splitter Part No 38220. This is now the third splitter I have tried without success.

I'm disappointed that I can't get the splitter to output the advertised 4k 2160p signal. The outputs to my TV through the splitter are limited to 1080p.

Everything in my system is 4k/HDCP 2.2 compliant and I have tested everything including the HDMI cables as working and outputting a 4k/2160p signal without the splitter. All cables are short 1m/1.5m

I am trying to split the signal from a Vu+ 4k satellite box. The HDMI lead goes from the satellite box to the splitter. It then splits with one HDMI cable going to my Onkyo 4k amplifier and on HDMI cable going to a Slingbox. I have tested this without success by removing the lead to the Slingbox and also by bypassing the amplifier and plugging the HDMI lead straight into my Sony 4k TV. I have tried powering everything up in the right order.

Without the splitter I can get a 4k/2160p signal sent from my satellite box and displayed correctly at the same resolution on my TV. With the splitter the maximum resolution I can display on my TV is 1080p.

Can you suggest any help? Thanks

Dear bwj,

Is the EDID dipswitch on the splitter set to STD or TV? If it's set the STD, please could you change this to TV and test your set-up again?

I've tried powering up with both EDID settings without success. The splitter is going from 4k sat box to a 4k amplifier and a standard HD Slingbox, rather than straight to the tv

It's possible that your HD Slingbox is giving out an EDID before the 4K Amplifier, which would limit the resolution. If you remove this from the set-up, and put the 4K Sat Box on Port 1 do you then get a 4K output?

I have tried the setup without the Slingbox connected and am still not getting a 4k signal to my amp/tv, only 1080HD. I haven't tried powering up yet without the Slingbox connected so will try this when I have time. Presumably this resets any EDID values?

When you power your panel and sources up, they will handshake and the EDID will be passed through when you have the splitter set to "TV".

Are your HDMI cables high speed? Are you using Port 1 on your TV?

I don't believe it is the splitter causing the issue but rather something else in the set-up, perhaps your amplifier if that has built in EDID settings. It would be unusual to have 3 different splitters all do the same thing, especially from different manufacturers.

All of my cables are high speed and can send a 2160 res signal. When I don't use the Lindy splitter everything works. The 4k Sat box passes a 2160 signal to the 4k amplifier which in turn successfully passes a 2160 signal to the tv.

I've tried troubleshooting by sending the signal from the Satbox to the splitter (without the Slingbox attached) to the tv but can still only get 1080p signal whenever the splitter is used in the setup.

That is quite unusual, we have tested these splitters recently and they support full 3840 x 2160 60Hz resolution, even at longer cable lengths.

I'm afraid I can only suggest that you return the splitter for testing, it could be that it is incompatible with another part of your set-up. If bought this directly through LINDY, please could you fill our online returns form out here:
