Hi there

Bought a 4 port switch - Lindy No 38032 and I have a problem.

It connects fine with my laptop - and of course then my monitor is also well connected.

My stationary PC - Alienware X51 R2 with NVidea GTX 760 and windows 10 - though only works briefly during startup and before windowslogin the signal switches off.

I've tried different ports same result.

Can you help ?

best regards
Jeppe

Hi Jeppe,

That is quite unusual, does the monitor at your stationary PC work with the laptop? What is the native resolution of the monitor?

Generally if you can see the windows loading screen but it turns off when it loads the whole OS (And graphics driver), it would mean there is too much bandwidth being sent so you get no output.

Hi Guy

Yes - it works fine if I plug either the lap top or the stationary directly to the monitor. But through the switch I only get an output from my laptop - besides briefly in the startup fase of the stationary - then my monitor says "no signal". My monitor is Samsung Syncmaster 2233

Hi again

I've tried with a cheap noname switch and it works fine - both ways

So if this one works fine

But this one doesnt
https://www.av-cables.dk/DVI-switche/li ... -vejs.html

The latter must be broken - agree ?

Hi Jeppe,

If it works with your laptop but not your computer, it would more likely be an incompatibility rather than a fault. If you bought this from Lindy within the last 30 days then we could accept this back without quibble, to do this please fill our online returns form out here:

Hi Guy

Ok thanks alot - bit disappointing since its just a standard Nvidia graphic card and a standard Samsung monitor. But at least you have been helpfull :-)
