my lap top does not have a HDMI port but my monitor on my desk top has one . The laptop has a DVI port . As i have 2 computers and a lap top I need to conserve space . THis is the reason I want to connect both to one monitor. If I am not technically savvy it is my age 81 . now can some one help me. Also I want to connect the second monitor on my second desk top to my LCD TV.

Hi,
DVI to HDMI is easy by just using a cable. See here http://www.lindy.co.uk/cables/audio-vid ... mi-to-dvi/
If your connecting more than one HDMI to the monitor you may need a HDMI switch - http://www.lindy.co.uk/3-port-hdmi-swit ... 38033.html
It would get quite complicted if you then wanted these two outputs to another monitor, you would need a splitter on the output of the switch or a matrix unit which are quite expensive.
Best Regards
Chris
