I have a Lindy 51520 eSATA card which generally works well under OSX Snow Leopard however I can' t see it at boot (option key held down).
Is there a fix for this ?
I want to try Lion on an external drive before I commit the laptop !
I can boot Firewire or USB but USB is impossibly slow and the SATA enclosure doesn't have Firewire....
Is there a firmware update for the card ?
Many thanks.

Hi,
I'm afraid it is not possible to upgrade the firmware for this card. Can you provide technical details on the computer you are using and I will make further enquiries.

I have now bought the Lindy single port eSATA card 51525 because it has the Jmicron controller. This card does boot the MBP from its old drive that is now in an external enclosure. I upgraded the disk drive when I ran low on space.
Haven't got to Lion yet so don't know what works.
